Budget Cloak (T15 Cloak)
233 ATK/930 DEF
Affinity: Earth/Dinosaur
533 Herbs/49 Jewels/11 Essence/3 Dinosaur Leather/4 Man-goroots

From a crafting perspective

Heavy on the herb cost and with jewels as a secondary te Budget Cloak isn’t going to be winning many awards for that base value. Whilst it’s nice to have a cloak that isn’t leather/fabric for potential KC crafting it’s not really looking good.

Not really amazing for Dragon Invasion on accounts of not being a spell but it’s not too bad if you’re lacking options there.

From a meta perspective

The issue with Budget Cloak is that it’s competing against Sia’s Mantle, and, as demonstrated in the many many articles Yuki has written, survival stats are king in Jungle Extreme for hitting 100% success rate on minibosses, especially if you don’t want to/cannot afford to deck your heroes out in full legendary gear.

Add to that the fact that idols exist in some of those cloak slots too and it looks even more grim. That’s not to say the Budget Cloak doesn’t have a place – if your chieftain for example is a hybrid build and already survives fine then adding a bit more damage wouldn’t hurt, though this is ideally something you would sim before making the swap.

Papertape Poker (T15 Spear)
1260 ATK/5% CRIT
Affinity: Earth
485 Herbs/171 Ironwood/11 Essence/4 Elder Wood/4 Demigod Pinion

From a crafting perspective

A more unusual pairing of resources there for crafting along with needing 4 Demigod Pinions (although you can drop this to 2 with ascension) and Elder Wood makes the Papertape Poker just generally ick to craft at the moment. For the value you get in return it’s questionable at best.

For Dragon Invasion it’s not breaking into the top 15, there are a lot of better weapon options.

From a meta perspective

Spears suck. They suck now, they always have sucked, they always will continue to suck until their low base attack value actually gets addressed. Rare is the situation where anyone is going to go “well thank heavens they released a new current tier spear!”, given the spear using classes can also just use dual wields for much better stats.

I cannot see a scenario at the moment where you would actively want to use this. Crit-based warlord Bishop would probably be better off running Crushtacean Pincers and that’s about the only edge case I got right now.
