Impackt: Cardboard

Wonder if these have a higher break chance in Sunken Temple

Rei Note: With the change to the pack release schedule (weekly packs and the mega & superior packs being spaced apart) we’re having to adjust things on our side for impackts -they won’t look quite as fancy for now. The superior pack will either be added to this when it comes out or get its own post, undecided yet.

Cardboard Guard (T15 Shield)
Cardboard Kabuto (T10 Rogue Hat)
Cardboard Clogs (T7 Light Footwear)
Cardboard Fortress (Outdoor Decoration)
Cardboard Weaponry (Wall Decoration)
Cardboard Slippers/Super Duper Jetpack (Avatar Items)

Blueprints

Cardboard Clogs (T7 Light Footwear)
125 DEF/8 HP
141 Herbs/36 Oil/3 Evil Eye/4 White Sand

So long as you can keep your heroes out of puddles the Cardboard Clogs are an okayish option for levelling. The thing against them is that they’re on the same tier as the Nightwing Shoes, which offer 5% evasion which will normally make more of an impact over 8 health.

Cardboard Kabuto (T10 Rogue Hat)
235 DEF/5% EVA
306 Herbs/87 Oil/19 Jewels/
4 Precious Shells/2 Thread of Fate

The Cardboard Kabuto on the other hand has the evasion and fills a decent-sized hole in levelling rogue gear. When I was last writing these regulary before Archon took over Precious Shells were used quite a lot – nice to see some things haven’t changed :P.

Cardboard Guard (T15 Shield)
710 DEF/52 HP
Affinity: Earth
480 Herbs/170 Oil/11 Essence/4 Dinosaur Leather/4 Man-goroots

From a crafting perspective

Part of me is surprised they didn’t try and shoehorn iron/steel onto this but yes we do have another non-metal pack print again 🥳. The first ascension drops the essence count by 3 and with it not requiring jewels/ether the Cardboard Guard is quite a pleasant craft.

Terrible for Dragon Invasion but that’s standard for most things in the accessory class that are not spells.

From a meta perspective

The Cardboard Guard is the new best-in-slot shield that should be used pretty much anytime you’re thinking of using one (which admittedly isn’t many places right now but still.)

If you’re using it on Lords and Praetorians and don’t need the extra barrier breaking I would give serious consideration to matching its affinity instead of slapping Light on it – their previous best shield (Argon’s Shield) had light affinity so you won’t notice as much as a jump otherwise in terms of stat increase and if you’re running the current best-in-slot setup you have the room to drop 1 item and still meet the element count needed for skills.

Summary

  • A pack full of equipment that can be easily defeated with a hose pipe.
  • The Cardboard Guard is the new best-in-slot shield, with Kabam having finally remembered we were missing a hp shield this tier.
  • Yes, I know it looks rougher than normal, that’s what you get when you get Rei doing them instead of Archon and Neri. Just can’t get the staff these days.

Final Score

Mega Pack: 8/10.

What merchant level do i need to be before i see this. Currently 51. Just got a pack of 6 old blueprints shown to me this week.

Hi there!
If you’re relatively new to playing then you’ll be what’s called the precycle stage – the game will show you a series of older content packs for sale (as the prints in them will be more relevant to your assumed progression state.) Once you’ve seen all of those or craft mid-high tier blueprint (originally this was t13 but I believe they lowered it at some point) you’ll start seeing the new packs as they come out – though if you want to see the t15 print specifically you need to have crafted a t14 item.

Great, thanks for the clarification. I’m consolidating my T8 blueprints right now then planning to move up methodically.
