From a crafting perspective

Krooked Handaxe is pretty boring as far as crafts go. Nothing really noteworthy about it.

For DI however, it’s a weapon with CHC. That makes it an decent option if you need a new one.

From a meta perspective

CHC on weapons is always interesting, but on this one, eh. It’s an axe (one of the weaker weapon types) so you’re probably not going to be using this item line unless you’re locked into it. Additionally, you generally want to focus more on survivability and defensive stats with lower tier equipment since you heroes’ most important job is “don’t die”. In most cases, skip this.

From a crafting perspective

Just like Krooked Handaxe, Krampus Hooves aren’t anything to write home about as a craft. The only thing of note is that they have a -3 Essence milestone instead of the normal -2 we normally get with T15s.

DI-wise, it’s decent but you probably have better.

From a meta perspective

Attack secondary tank items are always pretty niche. Fighters don’t usually make good use of them unless you’re going for a more offensive build like on Samurai or offensively based Berserkers / DKs. Krampus Hooves are a good choice on Spellblades (If you’re not using Rock Stompers for whatever reason) and Musketeers at least.

From a crafting perspective

Krampus Spirit has the same crafting costs as the Christmas spirit, which means it’s a little more expensive to make compared to the other T12 Spirits. Otherwise nothing remarkable.

As the counterpart to the Christmas spirit, Krampus has the same slightly higher stat bonuses. This means if you’re enchanting your DI gear, it will also be slightly better than the baseline T12 spirits (unless you have Affinity for one of those).

From a meta perspective

New Spirits are always interesting but this one… not so much. CHC and Threat is a really odd combination that struggles to find much practical use. Chieftains might make decent use out of it, but you’re probably going to have better results with Leviathan unless you REALLY need the extra Threat (in which case you’ll probably have better luck changing other stuff around). Velites can potentially make use out of it given they have higher Threat than the average Rogue.

See the use of “might” and “potentially” there? When you have to go fishing for niche use cases, that’s probably a sign that the thing isn’t particularly useful. What’s especially strange here is that it’s a T12, when the only two items that have Affinity for it are the T15s in this pack (yes, I get that it’s the mean counterpart to Christmas, but c’mon.).

From a crafting perspective

Crafting-wise, Krampus Cookies are identical to the other T15 Desserts. Nothing special here.

From a meta perspective

We just got Obsidian Lava Cake two packs ago, but Krampus Cookies fill a very different role and can thus coexist with it. This is the latest in the long line of Attack secondary Dessert options, and these are traditionally fantastic. Any heroes who are currently using Starberry Pie will want to switch to this, and anybody using the Lava Cake who can afford to lose the Evasion may want to consider it as well.

• Average crafts, all items except one are underwhelming for regular usage. Nothing really to write home about.
• Maybe one day we’ll get a new Threat spirit that’s actually useful…
• When the Grinch stole Christmas, perhaps he took all the good ideas too.
