From a crafting perspective
Nothing really standout-y here – we’ve got a fairly common pairing of Steel/Jewels at a reasonable cost.
Rei Note: With the introduction of starforged what’s good/bad for DI is going to depend entirely on what you’ve managed to starforge so I will no longer comment on that unless it’s incredibly good/bad.
From a meta perspective
You wait all tier for a good catalyst and then 2 come within a short time period (just over a month between them.) The Monster Catcher will take the spot as the go-to recommendation for best-in-slot just due to the health secondary stat being more valuable than defence, though if you’ve already kitted your heroes with Darkensmog don’t rush to change as it’ll be a minor sidegrade at best (and with Darkensmog having affinity, astramancers at least will want to keep that thanks to their Totally Balanced Innate™.)
From a crafting perspective
It has been a hot minute since we got a leather/fabric blueprint and the decapitated Vivi Dark Wizard Hat isn’t a bad choice if you got nothing else exciting going on.
From a meta perspective
Because what we needed this tier was yet another mage hat. It’s basically Pyroclastic Crown just without the forced fire enchant (meaning it’s worse for Spellknights, meaning it sucks2) so there isn’t really much to be gained here swapping around.
Plus Hallowitch Hat exists which is the generally preferred option due to it having health as a secondary stat.

Summary
- A new best-in-slot catalyst and yet another mage hat. Sometimes I feel a tier goes on too long when we’re victory lapping this many blueprints.
- Decorate your shop with the new customisations so you too can get a C&D from Nintendo.
- This is a fine example of why Kabam seperating the mega and superior packs was a good call – you can buy this without having to buy that ick last week.
