Are we in the Pegasus Galaxy?
Mega Pack

Sapphire Ring (T6 Ring)
Mermaid Plushie (Indoor Decoration)
Giant Clam (Outdoor Decoration)
The Angler/Merman Pants (Avatar Items)
Blueprints
Could be useful for leveling heroes. The affinity makes it good for leveling Monks, but swap to Blizzard Ring when you can equip T10. Aside from that it is your standard low tier pack item.
From a crafting perspective
Nothing unexpected here for the crafting costs. We have again got the essence reduction on the mastery track though sadly that means the Ether reduction has been moved to the ascension track – would have been cool if they were both on the main track.
Absolutely terrible for DI to a surprise of ooooh no-one.
From a meta perspective
…
So to understand how we ended up with this absolute joke of a weapon we’ll quickly touch on why staff weapons have (for nearly every tier) been a subpar weapon choice.
When Evelyn was added to the game staffs still had a role for casters as they were capable of getting dual-stat variants which at the time wands were not able to so players had a choice – you could opt for either the higher attack weapon with no survival stat or a slightly lower one that helped your caster survived.
This changed in September 2020 when we got our first wand (and first premium item in general ) in a superior pack – with wands now also available in dual-stat variants staffs really didn’t have a home to belong to for a fairly lengthy amount of time. Archmages did get an innate change at one point which helped make staffs relevant at least for one class (due to the bonus attack Archmages now provided to them) but otherwise we could pretend they didn’t exist.
Now when Tier 13 released this was all upended thanks to the Scepter of Ever-Wisdom (the collection book staff.) It was given an impressive 1,200 attack (presumably so players who reached 55k collection points at the time didn’t feel ripped off) which put it ahead of the wands for that tier. We then got the Yule’s Herald staff in a pack which, to make sure people actually would want to buy it, was given the same attack value as the scepter making it a solid choice for casters.
With the release of Tier 14 this advantage that staffs had for the previous tier was eliminated – the baseline T14 staff having a lower attack value than the pack staffs of the previous tier (this is pretty much unprecedented by the way, a weapon from a newly released tier having a base attack value lower than anything from the previous one.)
The Mother of Pearls has, instead of copying the attack values at least of the previous pack staffs, decided to copy the attack value of the base t14 staff meaning it’s also lower than the staffs from the last tier. You would ideally not run this weapon over Scepter of Ever-Wisdom/Yule’s Herald/Platinum Scepter as it loses to all 3 of them.
You might be thinking “well hey it has water affinity so it’d be good for geomancers right?” Whilst normally that might be true there are a couple of things we need to remember:
1) Geomancers gain bonus attack from any element, it doesn’t have to be water
2) Thanks to the release of Tier 14 enchants we don’t need all gear to be matching the hero’s element to hit the 170 required for rank 4 skills.
You could instead run Yule’s Herald as it has higher stats and crucially also has an elemental affinity. You can enchant it with earth to end up with a stronger geomancer who can still reach rank 4 in their skills.
This is without a doubt the worst weapon I have ever reviewed in an impackt and I’m slightly concerned that this exists. If perhaps instead of nerfing the hell out of spellknights/enchant success rates/etc Kabam would like to spend 2 minutes checking what weapons already exist before releasing a new one I feel the game would be in a better place.

From a crafting perspective
Basically the same situation as the staff from the mega pack – essence reduction on the mastery track but the other 2 resource reductions are locked to the ascension one.
From a Meta perspective
It’s the new best-in-slot caster hat. If you’re looking for survival for your spellcasters you’ve come to the right place and you get to look sorta stylish at the same time.

Summary
- If you’re thinking of buying this mega pack for the content pass task don’t, wait for the next one instead. I cannot imagine it will be worse than this.
- The new best-in-slot caster hat has arrived.
- Where’s our Praetorian pack Kabam? (If it’d be designed like the staff in this pack I’m fine with you not doing one.)
Final Score
Mega Pack: -1/10 New World Record!
Superior Pack: 8/10
Rei note: Things are going to be slow over the next unknown amount of weeks – the staff at STC are all going through different crap life is throwing at us at the minute. I apologise in advance.

Version 17.2.0 Release Notes
Fixed: Geomancers no longer receive affinity bonus from non-Water elements
Wouldn’t be surprised :P.
I can’t help but suspect the staff is so bad *because* the hat is so good. Want the hat? Gotta pay for the staff first, sucker! Enjoy pouring your money away on useless crap! (Even more useless than the baseline level of useless that is video games in general, too. The bar’s so low it’s subterranean and Kabam *still* managed to wriggle under it.)
My thought is that they released a shit pack because of the content pass requiring to buy a pack to complete all tasks. So a way to milk whales.
Usually it’s the later pack in a content pass that sucks (cause they know people have no choice then if they want title.) Maybe this is an experiment :P.
Sorry for the “ugly” question…
As many player looknforward for your Impact on the premium packages, i come to notice that now they always arrive when the package itself, expire.
Is this a way for dont bother Kabug, sorry ..bam, and let them try to upsell even when they are proposing very unwhorty premium items?
Can we have the Impacts earlyer?
And maybe propose the developer of Kabug to discuss whit the players what item we look forward to get?
(I.e. please no more swords there are other line to develop too)
There’s a couple things to unpack here.
First, we have no influence on what items Kabam makes. We can offer suggestions sure, but they’re developed behind closed doors. The situation with this Staff has been raised to them and they’re looking into it, but that’s about all we can do. We’re not sponsored by Kabam so we have no investment in trying to “upsell” for them.
Second, we aim to get Impackts out within the first week of a pack launching to help people decide if they want to get it with plenty of time. Admittedly, they’ve been slipping and we’ve been getting them out slightly later than usual. As I mentioned in the post itself, life is particularly rough for most of us on the STC team at the moment. Sometimes stuff slips a little because of that. Please remember that we’re human too.
I like* how Kabam chose the absolute most feels-bad possible solution to the staff by deciding the Yule’s Herald and Platinum Scepter’s stats were “a bug” and nerfing them. Now I feel stupid for having bought the Yuletide pack and the Mother of Pearl is still outclassed by the Scepter of Ever-Wisdom. It’s the worst of both worlds!
