Maybe the real rewards were the micro-transactions we made along the way.
Last Date Modified:
Disclaimer: This article will mostly talk about their abilities rather than the crafting lines that they provide. In terms of crafting, they’re mostly equal and most players won’t really care about crafting them later on because you won’t be crafting your own equipment unless you happen to buy packs too.
Each of the premium workers are very strong pickups and each of them come with very strong abilities. Which one you get will entirely depend on what you value as a player! Something to note is that you shouldn’t feel forced to pick up any workers at all! This game can be played entirely f2p (Free to play)
Brief Overview
Earlier on, Evelyn and Yohan would get more value due to how their ability works. Their abilities are also more universal and helpful to most players.
For players that like heroes/questing then you will want to pick up Roland and/or Mundra. Whichever one to get would depend on whether you value short/long term powerspikes. In the short term, Roland’s ability will provide a huge boost but for the very long term, Mundra might be better. (More on this later)
For shop sellers, the go-to recommendations are Yolanda and Zephyr. Yolanda’s ability is often underestimated because of it only adding 5% to small talks. Zephyr also helps most player manage their inventory by helping you clear your inventory quicker and lets you get in more small talks, discounts & surcharges in the 15-minute window that her ability is active.
The last two workers are more skippable but do provide a nice QOL. Roxanne helps non-RM players get fewer equipment breaks but is the most expensive of the premium workers in terms of cost. If you have Mundra or RM, then she’s mostly skippable but would help reduce the amount of repair kits/gold you use. Kaipo is widely known as the weakest premium worker because his ability only lets you get a 2nd king sale anytime King Reinhold decides to grace your shop with his presence.
Specific Worker Breakdown
Disclaimer: The personal experience part is highly subjective and will not be objective by any stretch of the imagination. I will be talking about how I feel about the workers and I know some of my takes are quite hot. That being said, I’ll try to remain as objective as possible for the breakdown as well as personal experience
Yohan

His ability lets you start two furniture upgrades simultaneously instead of just having one upgrade at a time. This effectively reduces the amount of time you need to wait on furniture upgrades by half.
If it would have taken you 3 years to get all your furnitures to level 15 then having Yohan would cut that down to around 1.5 years if you’re able to optimize your furniture upgrade times.
The only drawback of this ability is that it won’t always be useful. Later on, you will encounter issues getting enough dragonmarks to even get upgrades started, let alone having two of them upgrading at the same time. This point is once you’ve gotten all your furnitures to level 15 because every upgrade past level 15 requires a certain amount of dragonmarks to start.
However, you don’t have to worry too much about this because it takes a long time or a lot of gems to get to that point where dragonmarks would become your bottleneck. It is far more impactful to get all your furniture to level 15 quickly as opposed to getting them past 15 anyways!
Personal Experience
I found myself loving Yohan a lot as an early pickup. He was the first premium worker that I got, and he has helped me push my furniture to a decent level earlier on.
Since he was one of my earlier workers, I ended up crafting a lot of aurasongs/instruments earlier in my career which I sold at the marketplace for 10x base price which really helped with growing my shop because he helped make sure, I was never in desperate need for gold.
The best part is that he’s really cute.
Evelyn

Disclaimer: My recommendations will be based on the results of the calculations I’ve done. You can skip the calculations by NOT opening the accordion titled “Calculations” but feel free to check if my calcs are correct!
Evelyn’s main appeal is her ability to give you an additional 25% merchant XP from all sources. Note that this 25% only applies after you get her. This means that if you bought her after you got to merchant level 80, you won’t immediately get 25% of all the XP you’ve earned so far.
Depending on who you ask, this 25% would be a game breaker or nothing significant. If you are a person who cares about levelling up your merchant level quickly for whatever reason, Evelyn would be a pretty good pick up.
Not only that, but Evelyn has great synergy with Mundra as well! The synergy comes from getting the Stone line (Moonstone and Runestone) to 24 total stars ascended which will increase your Multicraft chance for stones by 50%
Calculations (Do not open if you don’t like math)
Assumptions:
– I will calculate for two cases which is getting Evelyn at merchant level 15 VS not having Evelyn at merchant level 15
– Guild boosts active
Calculation Example
– Sell 500 T3, T4, and T5 Swords
– T3 Gladius has 1,200 base XP
– T4 Cutlass has 3,100 base XP
– T5 Espada has 7,300 base XP
XP calculations are as follows:
– (1,200 + 25%) + 25% = 1,500 without Evelyn and 1,875 with Evelyn
– (3,100 + 25%) + 25% = 3,875 without Evelyn and 4,843 with Evelyn
– (7,300 + 25%) + 25% = 9,125 without Evelyn and 11,406 with Evelyn
Without Evelyn:
– T3: 1,500 * 500 = 750,000
– T4: 3,875 * 500 = 1,937,500
– T5: 9,125 * 500 = 4,562,500
– Total: 7,250,000
With Evelyn:
– T3: 1,875 * 500 = 937,500
– T4: 4,843.75 * 500 = 2,421,875
– T5: 11,406.25 * 500 = 5,703,125
– Total: 9,062,500
XP Difference: 1,812,500 which is about 198.6 T5 Swords worth of XP without Evelyn.
If you don’t have Evelyn, you will get to level 31 and about 50% of the way to 32
If you do have Evelyn, you will get to level 32 and about 84% of the way to 33
Personal Experience
Evelyn is great because she helped me level up my merchant level really quickly. As to the extent of which she helped, I can’t say for certain, but I definitely do think her contributions will be felt. I find myself wanting to push levels quickly and I’ve been levelling up at quite a fast pace, not having Evelyn will surely have slowed down my levelling speed!
Apart from the passive 25% XP gain, I highly value her runestone crafting line since I pair her alongside Mundra to get to 24 stars for an additional 50% Multicraft chance to runestones and moonstones. This is on top of another 5% Mutlicraft chance at 14 stars, which allowed me to multicraft perfect moonstones very frequently.
Mundra

Mundra’s ability is to let you have access to full moon fusion which are normally only available once a month during the full moon, to being able to access these powerful full moon fusions at any time you want.
For a player that does not have Royal Merchant, the biggest impact comes from being able to fuse repair kits for heroes.

This should lower cost of replacing equipment down to a minimal because repair kits are approximately 6,000,000 each (Click me to check calculations) to fuse whereas equipment alone costs more than that at the higher levels even in normal rarity, not to mention enchants/spirits.
Her other ability which lets you craft moonstones is also really good because requesting for perfect moonstones are a major hassle and takes a few days to fill. Her “crafting line” (if you can call it that) by itself is not that great, most of the time you’d much rather get a new line entirely than adding blueprints to existing f2p lines because this’d let you get more XP from AR.
Repair Kit Cost Calculation

10 Golden Chunks
2 Greater Moonstone
Golden Chunks
Cost of Acquisition: 0 – 220,000 gold
Method of acquisition:
– Guild requests
– Lost City of Gold reward track
– Luxurious Chests
– Market requests
Calculations:
– Market request for max gold & max gold cannot be more than 10x base price. Therefore, each request would be 200,000 gold
– Accounting for the 10% tax that the market imposes on market requests, that will increase it by 10% from 200,000 to 220,000 gold
Greater Moonstone
Cost of acquisition: 0 – 1,870,000 gold
Method of acquisition:
– Guild requests
– Grab bags
– Fortune Zones
– Crafting
– Quest drops from certain zones
– Opening certain chests
– Market requests
– Full moon fusion from lower tier stones
Calculations:
– Market requests for max gold & max gold cannot be greater than 10x base price. Therefore, each request would be 1,700,000 gold
– Accounting for the 10% tax that the market imposes on market requests, that will increase it by 10% from 1,700,000 gold to 1,870,000 gold
Cost to craft Greater Moonstones

Without crafting milestones or ascensions, the cost goes up by 2 lesser moonstones
Ghost Pendants: Requested for max gold at 175,000 which is 192,500 gold after taxes. 2 of them would be 385,000 gold
Lesser moonstones: Requested for max gold at 67,000 gold which is 73,700 gold after taxes or crafted for 3-5 precious gems (with/without milestones) which are 5,000 gold each or 5,500 gold after taxes. 16,500 – 27,500 gold total.
Her ability may not seem all too strong since even f2p players are able to do full moon fusions during the full moon once a month but having access to these powerful full moon fusions all the time is a lot stronger than most people initially think!
The ability to craft repair kits, phoenix feathers, skill die, item components, consumables at any time you want is quite strong and makes her a very good pickup!
Personal Experience
I admit that I had underestimated her ability and she was one of my last pickups as far as premium workers was concerned but I found myself using her ability quite often. Especially her ability to fuse chests into components, earlier on.
I wasn’t able to utilize the ability to fuse basic skill die earlier on since that required my Sondra to be level 32 but I found that fusing components overnight is not only a good way to level Sondra up, but also decent for profits if you know which components sell for more after you fuse them. (Requires some math)
I think the best part about having Mundra is the ability to craft your own moonstones if/when you need them. These things take so long to fill from the market even when you’re requesting for them at max gold. Being able to craft a bunch of them at once when you need them has definitely helped out a lot.
Earlier on, you definitely won’t be able to churn out perfect moonstones as easily, but once you’ve gotten to the point when you have a good amount of energy and aren’t worried about gold as much, you can dismantle equipment that give herb/oil and other equipment that gives jewels to get resources to spam your crafting queue with perfect moonstones. You can small talk + discount to get energy to quickly rush the crafts too!
Other very useful things about Mundra is the ability to fuse consumables like phoenix feathers, boosters, blossoms, seeds of merits, mythic xp drinks, etc.
Roland

Roland’s ability is quite straightforward, he lets you select any skill you want on any skill slot for any hero. It is surprising with the number of people who thinks he just lets you get one free skill reroll rather than selecting which skill you want!
There are three main uses for Roland’s abilities which are
- Making perfect heroes
- Making great heroes
- Making bad heroes better until you eventually fire them
If you’re planning on perfect heroes (Totally unnecessary) then Roland’s ability should be used last to complete the hero. For great heroes, you also want to use his ability last to make your worst skill amazing. For the bad heroes, his ability would make them far better in the meantime until you eventually replace them.
I’ll talk about the main disadvantage of Roland first which is that his ability becomes “useless” once you’ve built 33 heroes and used his ability on all 33 heroes. The advantage is that it takes a lot of time/effort to get to this point especially without having Roland, getting him would push you to that point a lot quicker which is very impactful as far as game progression is concerned!
Personal Experience
He’s quite easily my favourite worker as far as worker abilities is concerned.
I’m a questing girlie and I’ve spent most of my career as a shopkeeper learning how to build heroes, hero equipment, spirit combinations, etc.
I am also a perfectionist, so I ended up spending a lot of time figuring out optimal skill combinations and his ability has saved me a lot of time when I was actively working on my roster.
I have built all 33 heroes and have the ideal skillset that I want, so his ability will no longer be utilized but he has helped push my roster to this point a lot quicker than if I had not gotten him.
Zephyr

Her abilities are tied down to the altar furniture that she gives you. This altar takes up a furniture slot and works in your shop/basement.
It is recommended to keep the altar in the shop for its active ability which is to increase customer flow for 15 minutes which can only be activated when the altar is in the shop.
The other part of her ability is that the altar increases 5% of your max energy just from having the altar in your shop/basement. This scales better as you progress since your base energy will increase higher and higher as you get more racks and upgrade them to a high level.
This ability usually means that you’re able to use it twice a day unless you’re really optimizing to be able to utilize all 3 activations per day. It is very strong, especially when the ability is active and helps players with a high inventory count clear out their inventory for just 15 minutes of shop selling.
Personal Experience
Personally, I’m highly active and struggle to keep my shop stocked up with items to sell even with 11 teams on extreme jungle with quest tree + double bundle, so I tend to not utilize her ability as much since I’d try to save it for when my inventory count is high which leads me to using it less.
I have found myself loving the ability when I do use it though, especially since it lets me small talk + discount + surcharge a lot better during that 15-minute timeframe. The other times when I’m less active for RL reasons, I find her ability to be very good to keep my inventory count low enough to not overflow items when I claim my quests.
Yolanda

Her ability is to increase small talk success rate by 5% going from 75% success rate to 80% success rate. This is often overlooked by most players as inconsequential but is a pretty good QoL!
If you think about it conversely, the small talk failure rate goes down from 25% to 20%, this is a 20% reduction (25 – 20% = 25 – 5 = 20)
For shop sellers, this is quite impactful since you’ll be doing hundreds of small talks every day and each failure reduces your current energy by 7% of your max energy while success only gives you 10% of your missing energy.
Personal Opinion
Here comes the hot take! I don’t like Yolanda at all because my playstyle is to spam sell with fewer small talks since I play shop titans on my 2nd monitor and spend less time focused on the game itself.
I do also small talk + discount when I feel like playing a bit more optimally to get more surcharges in or to rush my crafts but that’s not something I do often.
I think the biggest gripe I have is that having Yolanda makes it even more upsetting/annoying when I fail 5 small talks in a row when I only need 1 more successful small talk to get enough energy to discount + surcharge.
I know that’s how RNG works because it’s randomized but that won’t stop me from feeling frustrated, especially because I bought Yolanda to reduce the chances of these things happening.
Roxanne

Normally, the most expensive premium worker who reduces your break chance by 50% and makes champion requests (Especially Sia) super annoying with those annoying precraft crossbows and guns that are (almost) never sold for gold on the market which requires you to use a market slot to request for them at max gold.
Her ability is mostly a QOL ability and if you’re expecting her to reduce gear breaks to basically non-existent, then she won’t do that. If you have a questing rotation of 11 teams, you will likely still have 2-4 teams with gear breaks and sometimes even more than that or multiple gear breaks per team.
This isn’t to say that her ability is bad, it just means that you shouldn’t expect her to make it so that your gear only breaks very rarely but rather get fewer gear breaks. Her ability helps reduce the amount of gold you spend fusing repair kits if you own Mundra, or repairing gear with RM. Or if you’re entirely f2p then reduces the amount of gear replacements you will likely make.
Personal Experience
As you can probably tell, I don’t really like her mainly because she’s the most expensive premium worker while also making champion requests annoying especially when champions request for double crossbow, triple crossbow, prototype gatling, dragonator.
She does help me save gold from not having to repair my equipment as often as I would if I hadn’t gotten her. It also helps that I’m using mostly flawless gear rarity which has a slightly higher chance of breaking as opposed to epic/legendary gear rarity which means that I find myself having to repair my equipment more often.
Kaipo

Widely considered by many as the weakest premium worker, Kaipo’s ability just lets you get a 2nd king sale. That’s pretty much it. King sales are great but getting a 2nd one every 24+ hours isn’t particularly great for most players, especially since Kaipo only gives you one crafting line on top of his ability.
There is a special mechanic that you can achieve with this 2nd king sale to guarantee the king buy whatever you want him to buy without having to go through the troubles of king baiting or using the barter tree for its ability to suggest King Reinhold from changing his mind.
The way you can do this, is by going about your day as normal until King Reinhold decides to grace your shop with his presence. Once he selects the first item he wants to buy, you lock every single superior+ item in your shop and make sure only the item you want to sell him is left unlocked on a rack. After you make the 1st sale, King Reinhold is guaranteed to buy the only unlocked item you have left.
King sales are great for gold/XP since you get 5/6/7 times more gold/xp (Depending on your chase card) and up to 10/12/14 times more gold if you use a limited-edition token on top of that.
Personal Experience
I love desserts and I love Kaipo so I’m biased towards him but I do have to say that his ability is rather underwhelming as far as premium workers are concerned.
As for me, I do utilize king sales every day and am always king baiting with T15 Aurasong to maximize the amount of XP I get from Reinhold while also making some gold back.
Prior to changing to this strategy, I would king bait my most valuable superior/flawless/epic/legendary items that I want to sell to the king, so getting a 2nd sale on top of that has made Kaipo quite useful for me!
Worker Comparisons
Roland VS Mundra
As far as questing workers go, the ones leading the charge by a mile are Roland and Mundra. Both of them provide different utilities but are both very strong for making your heroes a lot stronger than they already are. Roland’s ability is more straightforward and provides a bigger/immediate boost while Mundra’s ability just allows you to craft moonstones/skill die anytime you want.
For the short term, Roland’s ability will boost your hero’s strength a lot but will quickly lose value as you start completing your heroes and start fleshing out your roster, whereas Mundra’s ability to also craft repair kits, consumables remain just as powerful.
Mundra will have better long-term value as her ability will not degrade over time like Roland but will take a lot more time/effort/resources/luck to achieve what Roland can do since you’ll need to spend a lot more time to craft/buy moonstones then fuse them into die to be used on your heroes.
For non-RM players, Mundra will very likely win solely for her ability to let you fuse repair kits which will open up your options to use higher rarity gear without fear of losing them through breakage.
Evelyn VS Yohan
Earlier on, a rather common question is whether to pick up Evelyn or Yohan. The answer here would depend entirely on what you value.
Both Evelyn & Yohan get more value the earlier you get them due to how their abilities work. Yohan lets your furniture catch up a lot quicker while Evelyn would let you level up a lot quicker.
If you care about long term value, then Evelyn may be the better pick since her ability does not degrade over time like Yohan, since Yohan’s ability will eventually be negated by dragonmarks
Although, what I said about Yohan’s ability eventually degrading will likely only happen in years if you’re a newer player. It’ll take quite a long time before you’re able to get all your furniture levelled to 15 unless you spend gems to rush them (Not recommended unless you know what you’re doing). Besides that, the earlier you get your furniture levelled, the better your experience will be while playing this game.
