Your guide to the gameplay changes in 18.1
Obligatory Legal Notice: As part of the Kabam Creator Program we were given the chance to preview the update before it went live which is where the below images and video were taken from.
Introduction
This is going to be short as there isn’t exactly much to cover. As a side note, barring any hotfixes, this’ll be the last update patch for the year due to the winter holiday period.
Christmas Content Pass
As is tradition at this point we have a new content pass for the holidays. This time the final prize is a new T14 quiver (tap the arrows to see more pictures):
There’s some other cool things on the track as well such as a hero slot (this will be your next hero slot it is not a bonus one) a titan soul, some blueprints and shards:
- Yes, this pass is slightly longer in that it goes to 5,100.
- If you already have all of the hero slots it will be replaced with Ascension Shards (250).
- Some of the shard rewards you see in the pictures above will actually be blueprints, they just turned into shards because I already own them.
- One of those shard nodes will be the Tale of the Unicorn blueprint.
As usual to earn points you’ll need to complete a series of tasks. Let’s take a look at them (tap the arrows to view more pictures):
- The Daily Login of course starts at 1, just I couldn’t exactly avoid claiming it.
- Whilst this pass can be completed by f2p (by completed I mean reach the final prize on the track) it’s very tight. I did raise this as a concern during the preview so some numbers might get rebalanced from what you see above.
Market Affinity
The market element and spirit filters will now pick up items that have a matching affinity to your filter, not just items with in-built enchants. There isn’t really anything I can show here and not just because it was buggy on the preview but it’ll be fixed by live.
Roland’s Ability
To make it clearer that his ability is available for all of your heroes and not just the very first one the game will now automatically expand the Epic skill segment on a hero when choosing to reroll an ability. Easier to demonstrate with a video so:
Resource Worker Nerf
Resource workers will now only factor in your 5 highest bins of a resource when delivering to your shop instead of counting all of them.
This was mainly done due to a trick/exploit where players would put out mass numbers of a resource (say for example Essence), bait the worker into visiting, put all those bins away and then claim it meaning they now had thousands of resource to craft with without having to give up any furniture spots.
The problem with this (outside of balance concerns of being able to completely ignore regen) was the numbers being brought by the workers were actually causing the game to crash in some cases.
Kinda like when they nerfed the amount of torches you can have in your shop as some players were putting so many in it’d crash the game – someone just had to get greedy and ruin it for all of us :-/.
Misc Changes
- The Candy Bowl has an animation as intended.
- The Lone Wolf Cowl/No Rest Time bug was fixed.
- Roland’s level requirement for some of the quivers and dual wield items was reduced. Not sure if intended, take advantage if you need to.
And that about covers it. STC will be going on a slow down period next month as well due to the holidays – we’ll still put out our impackts just it might not be quick.
Hoping 2025 brings some cooler changes 🤞

Thank you! Looks like an awesome pass!
5 bins is too low. 10 I could understand.
Thank you for the preview & analysis.
