Update 26.7 Overview

A guide to the gameplay changes in Update 26.7

Obligatory Legal Notice: As part of the Kabam Creator Program I was given access to a preview build of the update before it went live which is where the below images were taken.

The pictures shown were obtained from an early build, not indicative of the release version, and subject to change.

Introduction

Welcome to 26.7 – home of the new Transcendence mechanic, a new flash quest, some tweaks to the Tomb of Titans alongside a new booster exclusive to it, the next community event, a new content pass, and another login calendar.

My thoughts on the update can be found here.

Transcendence

The headline feature of 26.7 is Transcendence, a new way to enhance a blueprint further. To transcend a blueprint you need to be at least level 50 and have fully ascended the blueprint you wish to transcend. Once you meet the requirements you can click on the Improve (formerly called ascension) tab on the blueprint and you’ll see a new Transcendence option. Let’s take a look at one now:

Transcendence Milestones are nearly all about increasing the combat stats of the blueprint – in the example above you can see we can increase the ATK value of the spell, its DEF value, and then a 10% boost to its base ATK/DEF/HP stats (as relevant.)

Here’s what the Chapter Cauchemar looks like statwise when it’s fully upgraded:

Transcending can also add a stat to an item that it did not have it before. Here’s an example using Universe XVI:

You can see the second transcendence milestone will add +HP to the blueprint. Fully transcended and starforged we end up with this:

There is also a meta progression track for transcendence. Unlike ascension which has an individual track for every item line the one for transcendence is just one global one so transcending an item in any line will advance it:

Transcending an item requires a new currency: Transcendence Seals. These seals are fairly rare – they only come from the new flash quest and Terror Tomb of Titans.

Flash Quest: Apostate Effigy

Welcome to Nullysium, home of the Apostate Effigy who can drop the new Transcendence Seals:

Note it’ll only be 3 attempts on live (4 with Bjorn) just the preview build has infinite tries so we can check balance/loot table/etc.

This flash quest has a few things that make it stand out from the other ones:

  • Every difficulty has an elemental barrier of 400 strength – normally only Extreme has a barrier.
  • The Elemental Barrier is different for each difficulty:
    • Easy: Dark.
    • Medium: Water.
    • Hard: Fire.
    • Extreme: Light.
  • It runs more than once per month – the schedule is every 14 days. The first time this will be ran is the 18th July.

The loot table is quite small consisting of just the Transcendence Seals as well as Ascension Shards, here’s some examples of what you can expect:

Tap to reveal the drop tables for Extreme

Drop Table 1 (guaranteed): 31-40 Transcendence Seals
Drop Table 2: 15-20 Transcendence Seals
Drop Table 3: 15-20 Transcendence Seals
Drop Table 4: 80-100 Ascension Shards
Drop Table 5: 100 Ascension Shards
The RM slot can roll from table 2, 3, 4 or 5.

The Apostate Effigy does put up a bit of a fight to protect these seals. Be aware they are quite the heavy hitter – this is some of the hardest content the game has to offer on Extreme:

Tl;dr they hurt

Tomb of Titans Tweaks

The Tomb of Titans has had some adjustments this update. First up we have a new modifier that can appear:

Nullifier – heroes (and champions) of the chosen element cannot be used.

Straight up just blocks you from using anyone who matches the element it rolled so for example if it picks Water you cannot use any Daimyo/Grandmasters/Astramancers nor can you use Lilu/Polonia.

The Tomb-Bound Spirit has also been adjusted. The bug that caused it to boost stats on every item has been fixed. It has also been slightly reduced in power from 50% to 40% – in return however it also has an effect outside of Tomb (albeit weaker):

A new type of booster has been added to the game to help with clearing the tomb – Blessed Lanterns.

These lanterns reduce the effect of the Tomb’s Curse (so the scaling modifier that increases the hp/atk/def cap) by 30/50/90%:

At the time of writing there are three ways to obtain these:

  • They have been added to the drop tables for the tomb so there’s a chance when you clear a floor of obtaining one. Lanterns can drop on any difficulty.
  • They can be found in tomb-bound chests.
  • And, much like with other boosters, you can pay gems to buy them:
    • Blessed Lantern – 25 Gems
    • Super Blessed Lantern – 50 Gems
    • Mega Blessed Lantern – 150 Gems

And finally in tomb news there has also been adjustments to the loot tables. I’ll be covering the changes for Terror Tomb here as that’s the one I know the most about and please note these may not be final – we saw last time the tables got adjusted after my patch guide/thoughts on it were published:

Drop Table 1
No changes.

Drop Table 2
Removed Wyrmbane Cannonballs, Repair Kits, Phoenix Feathers and Limited Edition Tokens.
Increased Common Gear quantity range from 5-8 to 6-10.
Reduced Tomb Spirit quantity range from 2-5 to 2-3.

Drop Table 3
Added Wyrmbane Cannonballs (quantity: 1), Repair Kits (quantity: 1), Phoenix Feathers (quantity: 1), Limited Edition Tokens (quantity: 3), Super Blessed Lantern (quantity: 1) and Mega Blessed Lantern (quantity: 1).

Drop Table 4
No changes.

Drop Table 5
Increased drop rate by ~15%.
Added Transcendence Seals (quantity: 25)

Basically table 3 isn’t just timewarped components now, it can drop other stuff instead which frees up table 2 to be more reliable for gear drops. However, that’s a nerf to cannonball drops – though some people got over 100 from the last tomb so it’s not really unexpected they’d rebalance it.

Table 5 is the table that contains keys (except tomb) and shards/scrolls/dragonmarks and now seals as well.

Naya’s Beachapalooza

Naya’s Beachapalooza is the next community event, running from the 24th July until the 30th July. Here’s what is required to score points in the event:

And here are the rewards on offer:

Summer Sidewalk Sale Content Pass

Summer Sidewalk Sale is the next content pass, running from the 17th July until the 2nd August. It is an antique content pass (so no new blueprints) and so is priced cheaper at 1,000 gems.

Reward Track

Tasks

Summer Surplus Login Calendar

Running from the 31st July until the 11th August is the Summer Surplus login calendar.

Miscellaneous Changes

  • The Royal Merchant icon was changed. Your guess is as good as mine as to why.
  • Naya should no longer keep trying to sell you the same blueprint pack repeatedly if you decline it.
  • Mirror Loot bug was briefly fixed during one build but then appeared again in a later one. Unsure if this’ll be fixed or not again in time for live. Hopefully it will be so we can finally put it to bed.

If you wish to know my thoughts on the patch follow this link

Otherwise go forth and transcend your blueprints to the next level!

So we asked for better loot in Tomb and kind of get worse. That’s disappointing. Thanks for the info!
